Tribute to My Bloodline
For the women who came before, and the ones who now bloom.
I come from a bloodline of quiet fire —
Women who carried the world in their arms
and let their daughters chase it with their feet.
They built homes with their hands,
but their hearts were architects of dreams.
Rooted in rituals, yet radical in faith —
they believed in more, even when they had less.
They didn’t raise rebels;
they raised free minds.
They didn’t shout their strength;
they lived it —
in the food they served, the prayers they whispered,
the space they gave us to grow.
In their silence was trust,
in their stillness, a map for motion.
They taught us that power
can sit in the lap of gentleness,
and ambition can rise from the softest soil.
And now, to you — my daughter —
the next bloom on this ancient tree:
Remember where you come from.
Not to stay rooted in the past,
but to rise with deeper grounding.
Be kind, but don’t shrink.
Be soft, but never silent.
Speak with love, but don’t fear saying no.
Ask questions. Break what limits you.
Love fiercely. Work freely.
Take up space — and make it warm for others.
You carry their courage in your smile,
their wisdom in your wonder,
and their dreams in the beat of your tiny, unstoppable heart.
We are the daughters of their belief,
the keepers of their grace,
and the voice they never needed to raise.
Here’s to the bloodline —
of women who stayed,
so we could go.
And to you, who will go even further.
Cheers 🍷🍷
